Seriously though there are a few pointers when buying a new LCD or Plasma TV.
Firstly buy the very best you can afford. The picture quality and reliability are far higher on the top brand sets. Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba that sort of brand. Think of the extended warranty, Sony Centres offer a Free 5 year warranty for instance, consider your home contents insurance, does it cover accidents like the common occurence shown above.
Buy a True HD set 1920 by 1080. Fantastic if you have an HD source like Sky HD, Virgin HD, Freesat HD, Xbox360, PS3 or a Blu Ray HD player.
The optimal viewing distance from your new set is 4.5 times the screen size. So don't be tempted to buy the biggest in the shop. Work it out first.
Use the best quality leads for the best quality sound and picture. But don't be tempted by the salesman trying to sell you a scart lead at £90! We stock great leads from £10.
